Class 1 - Info

Welcome to Class 1!

Mr Hudson - Class teacher

Mrs Coole & Mrs Duckworth - Learning support assistants

Class 1 is an exciting and fun place to learn. We will learn through a wide range of engaging topics this year.

The Autumn term starts with the topic "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle". We will be learning about materials and their properties. We will recycle our waste into junk models and write instructions for others to be able to do the same.

In Class 1 we like to get out and experience the world around us. We will be using our fantastic school grounds for our learning and we will go on local trips to enhance the curriculum.

During storytelling we will learn to tell the whole story of the "The Little Red Hen " through actions and story maps. We will perform this to the school at our Harvest assembly.

Reading is a very important part of your child's education. We ask that you hear your child read a few pages of their reading book every night. This will benefit not only their reading but greatly impacts on their language and writing as well.

PE will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday during the Autumn term and therefore we ask that your child has the correct kit in school every week.

Homework is chosen to reinforce what has been learned in the classroom during the week. Children will receive homework on a Friday and it is to be handed in the following Friday. The children will receive a piece of English and Maths homework every Friday.

I will take much pleasure in teaching Class 1 and seeing your child blossom and grow throughout the year. If at any point you have any concerns or would like to speak to me please do not hesitate to see me after school or make an appointment in the office.
